Message from the CEO - Fall 2019

AAA

Almost everyone can agree that not all of life’s education happens in the classroom. In a lot of ways, traveling is the best form of education, as people can get many benefits from travel. From learning about other cultures first-hand to seeing where historical events took place with our own eyes, travel gives us the opportunity to deepen our understanding of art, science, history, and culture in ways we never have before.

Education becomes a whole new experience when we can see the Colosseum for ourselves or see the tools and equipment scientists used in centuries past to make discoveries that make our modern world possible. Travel brings the material off the pages and into reality, allowing us to connect to it in a stronger and more meaningful way.

But travel doesn’t have to be a luxury. A bus trip to New York City, a train ride to Washington DC, or even a subway ride to Old City can bring us new experiences.  No matter where we go, it’s almost guaranteed that we’ll learn something we didn’t know.  One of the perks of travel is that education.

With that in mind, we realize that it’s that time of year again. With High School students back to school for a few months now and settling into their routines, many seniors are making plans to further their education. One of the principal factors in making the decision on what school to attend involves costs.

Commencing in 2003, AAA South Jersey is proud to continue the tradition of investing in the education of our youth by offering our annual AAA South Jersey scholarship.

High school seniors residing in Camden, Gloucester, Cumberland and Salem counties, who plan to attend an accredited two- or four-year college or technical school, are eligible to win a $2,500 scholarship!  Please see the following page for this year’s essay question.

Good luck!
