Day 1

Welcome to Iceland! Upon arrival, the eclectic city of Reykjavik is yours to explore on your own. Meet your Local Leader and fellow travelers this evening at a welcome meeting before heading out on the town.

Day 2

Trade the urban landscape for stunning, rugged countryside as we discover Children’s Waterfall. This remarkable waterfall, off the beaten path, showcases Iceland’s natural beauty. Once at the Falls, we learn about the legend of how it earned its name before continuing toward the Krauma thermal springs where we have an opportunity to soak in a natural thermal bath. We will return to Reykjavik to enjoy the evening at leisure.

Day 3

Today, the beauty of the Golden Circle awaits. Our first visit is Thingvellir National Park, where we can walk between the European and American tectonic plates. Afterwards we stop at a geothermal bakery for a unique culinary experience, highlighting how the local community harnesses the region’s natural resources. Our adventure continues as we travel to the Geysir area in the Haukadalur valley to see Strokkur spout water and steam next to the original Geyser which is now dormant. Our last stop is the iconic Golden Waterfall, Gullfoss. We will arrive this evening at our countryside hotel, the perfect location for potentially catching the Northern Lights!*

*Although November/December is a prime season for viewing the Northern Lights, there is no guarantee they will be visible. No refunds or compensation will be provided if they are not visible.

Day 4

Our adventure takes us south today to Reynisfjara Beach, the most famous black sand beach in Iceland. Here, we’ll learn about the Reynisdrangar sea stacks, and see why this beach is an iconic filming location. We will continue to the small town of Vik where we will experience the power of molten lava, at a safe distance, during a visit to the Icelandic Lava Show! Together, we’ll learn about the immense geothermal energy that Iceland is known for. Tonight, we’ll head out for another chance to view the Northern Lights.

Day 5

Today we are hiking up to the hidden waterfalls in Skaftafell Park. The untouched natural beauty will leave you breathless. We’ll return to Reykjavik this afternoon with plenty of time to continue exploring a few more corners of town that may have been missed on the first days. For the evening, join all your fellow travelers for a goodbye dinner.
