Day 1 - Reykjavik

Halló og velkomin til Íslands! In other words, Welcome to Iceland! Upon arrival, take your included transfer to the hotel. Here you will join your Local Leader for your Welcome Meeting. After the meeting, join your leader for a tour of this eclectic city. The afternoon will be yours to spend at leisure but tonight plan to meet back up with the group for dinner at a local restaurant. (d)

Day 2: Reykjavik

Trade the urban landscape for stunning, rugged countryside as we discover Children’s Waterfall. This remarkable waterfall —off the beaten path — showcases Iceland’s natural beauty. Once at the falls, we learn the legend of how it earned its name before continuing toward the Krauma thermal springs. Here, we have an opportunity to soak in a natural thermal bath. We return to Reykjavik to enjoy the evening. (b)

Day 3 - Hvolsvollur Valley

Today, the beauty of the Golden Circle awaits. Our first visit is Thingvellir National Park, where we can walk between the European and American tectonic plates. En route to the famed Geysir, we stop at a geothermal bakery for a unique culinary experience — highlighting how the local community harnesses the region’s natural resources. Take in the stunning Strokkur Geyser and Old Geyser; our last stop is the iconic Golden Waterfall, Gullfoss. We arrive this evening at our countryside hotel — the perfect location for catching the northern lights! (b, d)

Day 4: South Coast

Our adventure takes us south today to Reynisfjara Beach — the most famous black sand beach in Iceland. Here, we learn about the Reynisdrangar sea stacks and see why this beach is an iconic filming location. We continue to the small town of Vik where we experience the power of molten lava — at a safe distance — during a visit to the Icelandic Lava Show. Together, we learn about the immense geothermal energy that Iceland is known for. Tonight, you may want to head out to view the northern lights one more time. (b)

Day 5 - Reykjavik

Today we hike up to the hidden waterfalls in Skaftafell Park. The untouched natural beauty will leave you breathless. If by chance the weather is not cooperating, your Local Leader will bring you to a nearby platform so you can still enjoy the view. We return to Reykjavik this afternoon with plenty of time to continue exploring a few more corners of town that may have been missed on the first days. Tonight join your leader and fellow travelers for one last dinner to celebrate the end of this journey. (b,d)
