Your club takes special measures to be prepared for unfavorable weather; however, it cannot guarantee its normal service response under all circumstances and conditions.
During periods of extreme weather or poor road conditions, service requests are sometimes at a volume which creates unusual delays in service. If you cannot wait when these extreme conditions exist, call the nearest available garage for service and obtain an itemized receipt to be submitted to the Club within 60 days for reimbursement consideration.

Member must make every effort to secure AAA service first.
If a member is required to pay for road service because the membership cannot be verified, the Club will provide reimbursement of at least the contract rate upon subsequent proof of membership. Every effort must be taken to contact AAA before reimbursement consideration.
In the event that AAA service is not available, the Club will assist the member in seeking 3rd party service. The Club will fully reimburse the member for non-AAA facility expense, at the prevailing commercial rate for the region, when the AAA service was not available either within or outside the Club’s assigned territory.
Towing may be legally restricted on certain roadways. When this is the case, AAA will issue a full reimbursement for towing to the nearest exit. Towing beyond the nearest exit will be reimbursed at AAA rates within the policy limits.

An original itemized receipt for service in the member’s name, must be submitted to the Club within 60 days from the date of service for refund consideration. Plus: Covers a collision or car fire 100 miles or more from home, certified disabled more than 24 hrs. Covers up to $500 for 3 days for food and lodging or alternate transportation home. Police/incident report and receipts required.

Premier: If your trip is delayed due to an Accident, mechanical breakdown, car theft, unexpected illness or Injury, natural disasters or severe weather, you can be reimbursed up to $1,500 for covered out of pocket expenses, including meals, accommodations, and/or substitute transportation to continue your trip.

If for any reason you are dissatisfied with service, report in writing to the Club’s Emergency Road Service Department. Any discourtesy, unsatisfactory work performed, or defective material used by contract garages will be willingly investigated. Dissatisfaction must be reported within ten days so that the investigation can be made promptly while all the facts are available, prior to having the vehicle repaired. All parts alleged to be defective or misrepresented must be submitted to the Club for examination together with all bills within ten (10) days.
The Club has contracted for the provision of emergency road service with independently owned garages, selected for their ability to provide reliable service. It is understood that the Club shall not be liable to any member for any damage, injury or loss occasioned by or resulting from rendering, or attempted rendering, of emergency road or towing service or any failure thereof. It is further understood that garages are under contract with the Club to perform such services -- they are not agents of the Club, nor is the Club an agent for any garage.
Road service required by members outside the Club’s territory will be provided by the AAA-affiliated club where the vehicle is disabled. Please call the toll-free AAA SUPERNUMBER, 1-800-AAA-HELP (222-4357). Members calling AAA South Jersey for such service will be referred to the appropriate AAA Club.
Battery service may not be available in all areas outside of the AAA South Jersey territory. Please confirm battery service is available with the local AAA affiliated club’s phone operator where the vehicle is disabled at the time service is requested.
AAA South Jersey will provide a renewal notice prior to a Member’s AAA Membership expiring, and renewal dues will be payable by the Member’s expiration date. The following conditions apply to time of payment:
- If payment is made prior to the Member’s expiration date, the Member will maintain the Membership inception year and renewal date.
- If payment is made after the Member’s expiration date, but within 90-days following expiration date, the Membership will remain uninterrupted and will maintain the Membership inception year and renewal date. Membership dues during the grace period will reflect the balance owed at the Member’s time of expiration. AAA Emergency Roadside Assistance will remain available during a Member’s 90-day grace period. However, if service is requested during that time, the Member is required to pay their outstanding renewal dues prior to the time of service.
- If a Member fails to make payment within the 90-day grace period, the Membership will be cancelled. Upon rejoining AAA South Jersey, the Member will obtain a new inception year and renewal date as of the new purchase date.
Members enrolled in Automatic Renewal will automatically be charged their total membership dues on the debit or credit card provided approximately 15 days prior to the member’s expiration date. Members will receive an automatic membership renewal notice, along with new cards for all members on the account, approximately 60 days before their expiration date. Members can make changes to their membership or update credit card information at any time. Automatic renewal may be cancelled at any time by calling Member Services at 855-772-5551.
AAA South Jersey Members who provide their Military ID are eligible for $15 off the basic portion of their annual membership. The offer is available to active, reserve, and retired AAA South Jersey Members who provide Military ID. Upgrades are at cost. Offer excludes corporate and student members. Limitations & Exclusions
Primary or Associate members exceeding four (4) service calls in their current membership year may request additional calls, but must pay for service requested.
Only one tow per breakdown is permitted, any further accommodations or services would be arranged at your request and expense.
Road service benefits are available 24 hours after membership purchase. Plus membership benefits are available seven days after payment is received for those purchasing a new Plus membership; Associate members added to an existing Plus membership; and Plus memberships reinstated after more than 30 days past due on dues payment.
AAA Emergency Road Service is intended to help the most members possible with common automobile emergency problems; it is not intended for towing as a convenience. To receive service, proof of membership, vehicle registration and insurance must be provided. Members are required to be on scene at the breakdown location and also accompany the tow to the vehicle destination. There are limits to the kinds of problems for which the Club can provide assistance. For example: service will not be rendered unless a member is with the vehicle or confirmation of prior approval due to extenuating circumstances.
Service does not apply when a vehicle has been driven into an area not regularly traveled such as sand, vacant lots, beaches, open fields or at a place where it is difficult or dangerous for a tow truck to reach. Charges for manpower and equipment will be at the member’s expense.
Service cannot be rendered when a vehicle is snowbound. Extricating/Winching Service: The service provider will remove your vehicle from a ditch, sand, mud, snow, etc., provided the vehicle is no more than 10’ from a normal road or driveway, and the vehicle can be safely reached from a normal road or established thoroughfare. The AAA Club will assess each individual situation, and based on safety precautions and equipment needed, will determine if an extrication or recovery can be performed with light duty towing equipment. Vehicle recovery situations may not fall under terms or roadside assistance membership. If special equipment, more than one truck, or more than one person is required, the associated cost will be at the member’s expense. AAA Plus & Premier benefit - provides coverage to include the delivery of services of a second truck and operator for one (1) hour at the scene. Digging a vehicle out of snow, or rendering service in unplowed streets or driveways are not emergency road service functions.
Service will not be rendered in a service or gasoline station where repair service is available.
Seasonal tire changeover or the installation or removal of tire chains are not emergency road service functions.
Emergency Road Service is not intended as a substitute for the proper maintenance of your vehicle. In fairness to all AAA members, your Club cannot render service repeatedly to a car in need of repair. AAA South Jersey reserves the right to review excessive use of emergency road service as determined by average member use. Excessive use of service may result in membership termination or limitation of emergency road service to the extent that emergency road service will only be provided at an additional charge to the member.
AAA emergency services are dedicated to members who are experiencing true emergencies and those in need immediate rescue. AAA emergency service does not cover vehicle transport, nor do the services cover vehicle transport out of places of repair. These service requests are not covered under terms of membership.
Service is intended for personal, non-commercial use, and only provided for a covered vehicle disablement. An individual’s AAA membership may not be used by a business or organization to provide roadside assistance for its customers, employees, or vehicles, including, but not limited to, taxicabs, limousines, shuttles, and other commercial vehicles for hire.
Towing service will not be provided for the purpose of transporting vehicles due to a purchase, sale, renovation, auction transaction, car show, exhibition, charitable donation, relocation, or any other similar situation. Such tows are considered “convenience tows” and are not covered roadside assistance services.
Without limiting any other rights or remedies it may have, AAA South Jersey may seek reimbursement and/or punitive damages from a primary or associate member, or from business entities, for roadside assistance services fraudulently or wrongfully obtained by the primary or associate member, or the business entity. Primary members are responsible for the conduct and the service demands of their associate members.
Service on taxis, buses and limousines is not covered.
Emergency Road Services will be provided to eligible vehicles that were in operation immediately prior to disablement. AAA emergency service is designed to render assistance during emergencies when an unexpected incident disables a vehicle.
Vehicles involved in drag racing, speedway, or raceway driving are not covered under terms of membership. Emergency road service is not available at Auto Auctions or Motor Speedways/Raceway locations. These locations are excluded from service under terms of membership. Other vehicle transportation services outside of AAA emergency roadside assistance will need to be sought at the member’s expense.
Vehicles which AAA has determined to be unsafe due to overloading, or which require heavy duty equipment to safely provide service, are not covered.
AAA will not service a vehicle to which a plow is attached. The plow must be removed by the member before a covered vehicle will be towed.
AAA will not provide service to vehicles located at a repair facility where repairs can be performed, except when it has been confirmed that the repairs cannot be provided or completed. AAA will not remove a vehicle from a closed repair facility.
AAA will not tow a vehicle from the street to the driveway (unless it is obstructing traffic) or from one location to another on the property or at the repair facility, to junk yards, charities, vacant lots or unattended locations.
AAA will not pay for the taxi service from the site of disablement for Basic or Plus members (tow trucks are limited as to the number of passengers they can accommodate). For Basic and Plus members taxi service or other transportation can be arranged at the Member’s expense but if you are a Premier Member are involved in an accident or breakdown, a AAA Representative will assist you with making car rental reservations or other transportation arrangements. Premier members are entitled to (1) Ride Assist Transportation event per year where AAA will reimburse you for the first $20 of expense of the cab fare. Member is responsible for any additional cost, including tip and if Premier Member needs this benefit again within their billing cycle the Member is responsible for all expenses of the cab fare.
Primary or Associate members exceeding the miles of free towing permitted for their elected coverage level must pay for the excess mileage based on current AAA towing rates per mile. Basic members are responsible for payment per mile on towing that exceeds three (3) miles, as well for tow truck tolls incurred during the tow. Plus members are responsible for payment per mile on towing that exceeds one hundred (100) miles, as well for tow truck tolls incurred during the tow. Premier members are responsible for payment per mile on towing that exceeds one hundred (100) or two hundred (200) miles; Premier members are covered for any tow truck tolls incurred during the tow.
Mobile Battery Services
Price does not include tax and environmental fee. Certain vehicles, due to the location of the battery, may require both additional time and labor cost to install. Acceptable forms of payment are check or credit card.

Although AAA offers 24-hour, coast-to-coast service, it cannot and does not necessarily guarantee service under all conditions and circumstances, especially on toll roads where AAA service vehicles are not permitted. Delays may occur due to reliance upon the human element. In these situations, reimbursement request may be made to the member for covered emergency road services. However, our record is unique. A stranded motorist is rescued every five seconds, around the clock and around the nation. When AAA access is restricted, it is the member’s responsibility to contact AAA as soon as AAA service can be obtained. Example: when towed to the nearest exit of a toll road, AAA must be contacted to provide service beyond that point.
The Club contracts with qualified garages and facilities to perform quality repairs under the umbrella of AAA’s Approved Auto Repair Program (AAR). AAR shops in the AAASJ coverage area also provide a 10% discount to AAA members on labor up to a $50 maximum benefit. AAR repairs are backed by a 24-month/24,000-mile nationwide warranty. However, not all stations are equipped to perform all repairs on imported or domestic cars which may be required by members. Therefore, the Club cannot guarantee the availability of repairs at all facilities.
When your vehicle is towed to the AAA Approved Repair facility, your vehicle’s problem will be assessed and/or repaired within 60 minutes of arrival at the facility. If the work cannot be completed in one hour, you will receive a written estimate of the time and cost to perform additional diagnosis (if needed) or complete the repair. If repair cannot be completed the facility will assist you in obtaining alternate transportation. This could be a shuttle service, a loaner car, or help in arranging for a taxi or rental vehicle.

To maintain that trust, AAA South Jersey is committed to maintaining the privacy of its members’ Nonpublic Personal Information (“NPI”). AAA South Jersey would like to take this opportunity to inform you of how we are committed to protecting your information.
Recent federal legislation requires that all Financial Institutions provide customers with a statement outlining the policies and practices related to the sharing of NPI. At AAA South Jersey, we are providing this privacy notice to demonstrate our commitment to you. If you decide to end your relationship with AAA South Jersey or your membership lapses, we will continue to abide by the practices described in this notice and any amendments to this notice.
AAA South Jersey collects information about you in order to maintain your membership account. Information is also used to gain a better understanding of your needs as a member, to improve and develop better services, products, offerings, and to inform you of special promotions. These are delivered to our customers by us and our trusted partners.
We may also use information collected to assess the needs of AAA.com users and to improve the website’s content. We also collect information necessary to administer your account and to process services associated with your membership. This information is maintained to provide the highest possible quality of service.
When you join AAA South Jersey or do business with AAA South Jersey, we ask for and maintain you and your associate member’s name, address, home or work telephone number, birth date, email address and previous years membership with another AAA Club (if applicable). We also gather Member Information from the information we receive from you on applications or other forms, transactions with us or others, consumer reporting agencies, other companies we work with, companies providing marketing and demographic information, and information obtained to protect against insurance fraud and identity theft.
The following non-volunteered information may also be compiled automatically when visiting AAA.com: The referrer (the site prior to entering AAA.com), the IP address of the workstation, date and time logged of visit, pages visited while on our site, time spent on each page, and files downloaded. We will also gather information that is voluntarily submitted via search criteria, entered on forms or surveys, and transactional data from purchases. If the user supplies their telephone number or email online, they may be contacted by AAA regarding orders or questions placed online.
Your Member Information is only available to authorized individuals responsible for providing AAA South Jersey products and services. We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with legal requirements to protect Member Information.
We may disclose the following kinds of NPI about you with trusted partners:
*Information we receive from you on applications or other forms, such as your name and address;
*Information about your transactions with us or others, such as your membership account balance, membership payment history, parties to transactions and credit card usage; and
*Information we receive from a consumer reporting agency, from other companies we work with and from providers of marketing and demographic information, such as your purchasing preferences and information obtained to prevent insurance fraud.
“Affiliate” means any company that controls, is controlled by or is under common control with AAA South Jersey.
“Financial Institution” means any institution the business of which is engaged in financial activities as described in section 4(k) of the Bank Holding Company Act.
“Nonpublic Personal Information” means personally identifiable financial information about an individual provided to a financial institution in order to obtain a financial product or service.
“Nonaffiliated Third Party” means any person except an affiliate of a financial institution or a joint employee of a financial institution and a third party.
If you prefer AAA South Jersey not to disclose your Member Information to Nonaffiliated Third Parties (except as permitted or required by law), you may exercise your right to opt out of such disclosure by contacting us at:

By opting out you will be precluded from receiving notice of special promotions offered through AAA South Jersey that may benefit you. We may still include notices and information about other products and services when communicating with you about your account and related products and services. You will also still receive the “SJ FIRST” magazine six times per year. Opting-out will not prevent you from receiving solicitations from other companies obtaining information about you from other sources.
For security purposes, only the Primary Member is authorized to make adjustments to the membership. In the event the Primary Member is not able to request adjustments, the person appointed to make decisions on his/her behalf will be authorized.
At any time within the first 30 days of your new membership effective date, including any new added associate members, you decide AAA isn’t right for you, simply cancel. We’ll refund the unused portion of your paid membership dues less any excessive usage cost if applicable.
Should only the Associate add-on(s) be canceled within first 30 days, applicable refunds will be transferred to the new primary membership and applied to your next renewal.
Overpayments will be applied to your next membership renewal or on a request basis will be 100% refunded. No other refunds will be granted.

For security purposes, only the Primary Member is authorized to make adjustments to the membership. In the event the Primary Member is not able to request adjustments, the person appointed to make decisions on his/her behalf will be authorized.
Membership dues payments for renewals, upgrades and added associate members will not be refunded and your membership will remain in force until it expires.
Renewing memberships paid via Automatic Renewal (A/R) will be refunded 100% if request is made within 45 days of renewal date; no refunds will be granted beyond 45 days of renewal, however your membership will remain in force until it expires.
Overpayments will be applied to your next membership renewal or on a request basis will be 100% refunded.
Associate Add-ons will be canceled upon request; any applicable refunds can be transferred to a new membership for the cancelled associate or applied to existing primary membership at next renewal.

AAA reserves the right to cancel the membership for a Member’s abusive use of Roadside Assistance Services of the Club. In addition, a Member who requests or uses an excessive amount of Service; that is, uses Services over a sustained period that are greater than the average Member uses, may be subject to membership downgrades at renewal or the non-renewal of the membership.
Membership dues refunds are issued retroactively for deceased members.
Home service is not considered Emergency Road Service. Obtaining home service outside of the AAA network will be considered for refund at a flat fee but not guaranteed. Locksmith service will be refunded according to your policy whether at home or on the road.
