For years, we’ve been hearing about the internet is going to make certain products and services obsolete. With a few clicks on the keyboard, it was said, you can get almost anything. And not only could you get anything you wanted, it was delivered right to your door or computer.
Granted, the internet certainly has changed the way many companies and organizations do business. It has made businesses better and more responsive to customers, who now have a new way to shop.
One of the services that the internet was supposedly going to make obsolete was the travel agent. The argument was that anyone with a computer and a decent internet connection could make an airline, cruise or hotel reservation in just a few minutes, and be on their way.
Not so fast.
Somewhere along the way, people decided they liked dealing with a real person to help them with their travel plans, that having an experienced and knowledgeable person available to answer their questions and address their concerns was a good thing. A really good thing.
I may be a bit biased, but I believe the travel consultants (a much more accurate word than “agents”) here at AAA South Jersey are the best in the business. In addition to the standard items that travelers expect from a consultant – like worldwide hotel and airline reservations – our consultants can also assist our members with cruises, theme park trips, destination vacations, car rentals, group travel, currency exchange, passport photos, travel insurance and international driver’s permits. Basically, they provide complete travel solutions for AAA members and the traveling public.
More than that, they ask questions and offer advice to ensure that your vacation is perfect for you. There’s no “one size fits all” solution to your vacation planning. And our consultants will take the time to ensure that your vacation is the once-in-a-lifetime event that you want and deserve. And, if anything were to go awry during your trip, rest assured that they will be there to help you and act as a advocate. The same can’t always be said for the internet.
